When people get laid off they tend to gravitate to the job boards but depending on what study you look at only about 8 to 14% get jobs from the job boards. Several studies that I&#8217;ve seen have shown over 50% of jobs come through networking. I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ve heard the old saying it&#8217;s not what you know it&#8217;s who you know and that is so true with job search. Remember, a lot of companies pay referral fees because it saves them a lot of time and money if they can hire somebody who&#8217;s been recommended to them and those people usually stay around for a lot longer.
