I see many LinkedIn profiles where the work experience is not entered properly and this actually hurts your profile and it hurts the chances of a perspective recruiter or hiring manager not reaching out to you for a potential position. Your resume should point people to your LinkedIn profile and your LinkedIn profile should point people to your resume. Your LinkedIn profile is not an online resume but it should have elements of your resume. There should be enough elements on your LinkedIn profile to get the recruiter or hiring manager interested in what you have to offer and so that they go up to your contact information and ask you for resume.
In the LinkedIn experience section you typically want to put two or three sentences about your overall responsibilities in that position. Then you want to put to three or four of your best accomplishment statements in the form of bullet points. The idea is to get them a little bit excited about who you are and what you have to offer so they ask you for resume.
